Representatives from yacht ownership specialists, Abacus Yachts, are set to continue their voyage in promoting the importance and benefits of effective structuring for luxury assets, during a visit to Monaco at the end of this month.

Further to their attendance at the Opportunities in Superyachts and Business Jets events recently held in Malta as well as this week’s London Yacht Jet & Prestige Car Show in London, Paul Kneen and Paul Swindale will represent Abacus Yachts; part of the leading fiduciary and fund services group, Abacus; on a trip they have deemed as their “Monaco Yacht Show Warm-up” from 27 - 30 April 2015.

During their visit they will also be attending The Superyacht Group’s 2015 edition of the Superyacht Management Meeting: Fiscal (‘SMM’) being held on 28 April at the Hotel Columbus, Monte Carlo; an event which will welcome 100 likeminded superyacht industry professionals to network as well as to discuss and determine the future of the superyacht fiscal market.

Furthermore, like no other event of its kind, this year SMM will offer the opportunity for its attendees to be part of an initiative which aims to devise a strategy and create a white paper for the European Commission, on the subject of fiscal harmonisation and superyacht-specific legislation.

Chief Executive Officer, Paul Kneen said: “The ever changing requirements and regulations of the industry continue to affect yacht ownership, which means carefully structured planning remains of utmost importance. Based in two of the world’s leading maritime jurisdictions, Abacus is well placed to establish and administer effective yacht ownership structures that are compliant whilst still meeting the needs and objectives of the owner.

“Both the Isle of Man and Malta continue to offer a number of advantages for yacht owners who register under their flags. During our trip, Paul and I aim to discuss the benefits of using jurisdictions like the Isle of Man and Malta for effective yacht ownership and will promote their respective highly proficient yachting sectors to assist those that may have any such structuring requirements.

“We are also looking forward to the Superyacht Management Meeting event where we will have the opportunity to expand our network of contacts within the industry further and look forward to meeting and talking with people old and new.”

Abacus Yachts establish simple but bespoke ownership structures for pleasure and commercial yachts, working alongside owners and their representatives to provide administration support at a level they require so that they are afforded the ultimate freedom to enjoy their yacht.
