Abacus Aviation will be exhibiting at the premier business aviation event, EBACE 2015 (European Business Aviation Convention) next month, as part of their ongoing initiative to promote the importance and benefits of luxury asset structuring.
Recognised as the annual meeting place for the European business aviation community, EBACE is jointly hosted by two of the world’s leading associations in the business aviation industry, the European Business Aviation Association (‘EBAA’) and the National Business Aviation Association (‘NBAA’), and will be held at the prestigious Palexpo and Geneva International Airport from 19 - 21 May 2015.
Based at Stand Z044, Senior Business Development Manager, Paul Swindale and Trust Manager, John-Michael McCann will represent Abacus Aviation, part of leading fiduciary and fund services specialist group, Abacus, based in the Isle of Man and Malta and who have attended EBACE for over 5 consecutive years.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Paul Swindale said “Having recently returned from the Opportunities in Business Jets/Superyachts events in Malta, it was clear that the aviation and superyachts industries continue to grow – with luxury assets such as private jets and superyachts remaining an important piece of the corporate jigsaw.
"When purchasing a high value asset such as an aircraft it is essential to consider whether there may be wider financial or other liability implications, which varies greatly depending on the intended use of the asset. Whether for corporate, pleasure or commercial use, placing your asset in a carefully structured ownership entity can manage risk, tax and privacy issues.
"With ongoing plans to promote the importance and benefits of the careful structuring of luxury assets for HNWI; both our trip to Monaco at the end of this month and our upcoming attendance at EBACE will play a large part in continuing these efforts.”
Mr. McCann said: "EBACE continues to be a great networking platform for companies like ours to promote the potential benefits available to owners using the Isle of Man or Malta for aircraft importation, ownership and registration, and to discuss Abacus Aviation’s full range of aircraft ownership structures and associated services to a vast and diverse audience. I am looking forward to meeting with other likeminded professionals in the industry with whom I can discuss the current state of the industry and promote the two international aviation jurisdictions in which we are located.
"The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry is recognised as one of the top aircraft registers in the world, having gone from strength to strength with its ongoing success and continued growth. It has high regulatory standards and a sound international reputation, whilst offering a competitive scheme of charges, a politically neutral “M” registration prefix and a customer focused service.
"A member of the EU and with an extensive double tax treaty network, Malta is also a growing viable option for aircraft owners. An ‘onshore’ jurisdiction but with ‘offshore’ benefits, it offers aircraft registration to both the private and commercial aircraft markets and permits for fractional ownership, registration of aircraft whilst under construction and engine registration; all of which give aircraft owners the flexibility in how they utilise their aircraft.”
As one of the largest aviation events in Europe, EBACE showcases nearly 500 exhibitors and more than 50 aircraft each year, and provides a great networking platform for aviation industry professionals ranging from business leaders to government officials, to corporate aviation departments and other professional service providers.
Attendees and fellow exhibitors are welcome to visit Paul and John-Michael at Abacus Aviation’s stand, where they will be happy to discuss the importance and benefits of structuring luxury assets as well as any such requirements they may have.
