The Isle of Man Superyacht Forum exhibited at the London Yacht Jet and Prestige Car Show for the second year running at Old Billingsgate, London from 4-6 May 2016. This was the shows second year and it was clear that it had grown in stature as an event with more quality exhibitors and visitors.

London is a key element of any wealthy individuals’, and their families’, lifestyle and calendar, therefore a show of this nature is befitting of the city’s allure. London is also the leading financial services capital of the world and employs hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom will also be attracted to the show.

The event was held in two locations, St Katherine’s Docks for the Yachts and Old Billingsgate for the main exhibition area.

Abacus are members of the Isle of Man Superyacht Forum and as such we were invited to assist with the exhibition. This year the Forum decided to host a reception inside Old Billingsgate on the middle day of the event, which was extremely well attended.

The exhibition is still new and needs to increase its exposure to the rich and famous, by attracting celebrities to the event it will become a more exclusive show to be present at. Nevertheless the show is well attended but mostly by those working within the luxury world, whether that be goods or services. This makes the show an excellent B2B networking event for those that are exhibiting.

The Isle of Man Superyacht Forum is tasked with promoting the Island’s services and it did that exceptionally well by exhibiting among the elite and hosting the reception, many will think favourably about the Isle of Man after being welcomed and entertained at this event.

Abacus received guests at the show and visited other contacts around London during the time that we spent there, we also met some new contacts and will welcome the opportunity to get to know them better.

This was my second year attending this event and on both occasions the weather has been sunny and warm, this helps with the ambiance of the event and shows London in its best light which is an excellent backdrop for this event. The temptation to put your name down for a supercar, a superyacht or even a fine watch are almost too great!
