Abacus Yachts will be attending the 26th annual Monaco Yacht Show to be held at Port Hercules, Monaco, from 28 September to 1 October 2016. Abacus will be available to discuss the benefits of using the Isle of Man or Malta over other yachting jurisdictions for the purpose of yacht ownership and registration.
The Monaco Yacht Show is a must-attend event for all private yacht owners, prospective yacht buyers and decision-makers from leading companies in the yachting and luxury asset sectors. With over 34,000 participants expected from around the world, the Monaco Yacht Show delivers a spectacular exhibition that is renewed every year reflecting the constant changes in an industry driven by the desires – and the purchasing power – of its wealthy clientele.
The Show reoriented its development strategy in order to meet, and even anticipate, the needs of its participants – private clients, high-level visitors, managers of large brokerage or shipyard companies and all the sectors directly linked to yachting or complementary to this luxury industry.
Representing Abacus Yachts at the event, Samantha Snow holds valuable experience in private yacht transactions and their holding structures and has a keen interest in the yachting industry as a whole. Also attending is Stephen Colderwood who has worked in financial services for more than 25 years and is responsible for business development.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Stephen Colderwood said: “Though similar in many of their qualities, the Isle of Man and Malta have individual attributes which, depending on a client’s objectives and intended use, may be of more benefit to the ownership and operation of their yacht. I am also expecting there will be many questions in respect of the potential impact of Brexit. Having offices in Malta, and therefore in the EU, we believe that we are a serious competitor in this field of expertise and the show will prove to be a great place to promote both jurisdictions as well as our services.”
Abacus’ yacht services are aimed at owners and their representatives, with focus on ownership planning, tax and administration. We continually review and shape our services to meet the ever changing requirements and regulations in the industry, ensuring that ownership structures and how they are administered are both compliant with current regulations and meet our clients’ specific requirements.
