Fraser Yachts Announces Winner of Yacht Management Captain of the Year Award
Sunday, 6th November, 2016, Fort Lauderdale

Fraser Yachts, the world’s leading full service yachting company, is delighted to announce the winner of the second annual Yacht Management Captain of the Year Award. The award was presented at the Fraser Yachts Dockside Client Soirée on November 4th, held at the Fraser Yachts display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

For over fifteen years Fraser Yachts has awarded Charter Captains at the Captains’ Dinner which takes place at the Monaco Yacht Show each year. Fraser Yachts created this new award last year to recognise the Captains who are not on charter yachts. All departments at Fraser Yachts have had a hand in the nomination of candidates and the winning Captain was chosen based on a range of attributes including precision and punctuality in accounting and cost control, management of the crew and the safety culture on board, respect of the planned maintenance on board and the happiness of the owner and his guest.

Fraser Yachts was pleased to present the 2016 Yacht Management Captain of the Year Award to Captain Wayne Williams of M/Y KARIMA. Wayne has been working with his current owner for over 8 years and during that time has cruised extensively around the world in true expedition style, navigating locations such as New Zealand, French Polynesia, Australia, Singapore, India, Thailand, Maldives, New Guinea, the Marquises, Mexico, Hawaii, and Colombia. During this period he has maintained remarkable longevity with his crew and worked closely with the management team at Fraser Yachts. He is demanding but fully dedicated to obtain the best results for the owners and displays a transparent and positive work ethic. Wayne is a great motivator, especially under pressure and always gets results from his team approach.
The award was presented by Raphael Sauleau, CEO of Fraser Yachts, and Mike Busacca, Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Director U.S. of Fraser Yachts.

Ulysse Nardin sponsored the main prize of a Marine Divers Chronometre Ulysse Nardin watch. Other prizes included 3 days of free berthing at both Port Adriano and Marina Ibiza, dinner for two people at a Michelin Star restaurant in the Balearic Islands courtesy of the Balearic Yacht Destination group and a $500 travel voucher and an annual Prestige Priority Pass providing complimentary access to airport lounges around the world from Global Marine Travel. Other sponsors who made the night possible include MHG Insurance Brokers, The Macallan, Robb Report, My Father Cigars and CAT speakers.
