Starting out in 2007 as a small recruitment agency primarily aimed at large yachts, which grew through word of mouth, we are now proud to have grown substantially and have diversified to cater to a wide range of industry positions. Since Liam and Nicola took on the company two years ago following the retirement of Jim & Lin Halligan and Terry Wilson, wilsonhalligan have increased the client base, candidates and also our own, carefully selected in-house team, which we look to continue to expand upon.
The yacht recruitment services we now offer…
Our team can assist on all levels of yachting recruitment; from helping some of the very best Captains find their next position to supporting entry level candidate get their very first yacht job. We have also expanded and diversified our client base which now includes 25-180 metre yachts, boutique cruise ships as well as still recruiting for larger super yachts. Another specialism of ours is now recruiting for shore based roles in the industry such as office based positions within yacht management companies as well as private households, where skills sets from crew life are well-matched.

We are proud to have our ISO 9001 accreditation, of which we are annually audited for which showcases our high standard of management meaning you can have great faith in our service and processes. This certification also meant our transition to meet MLC 2006 requirements was very straight forward, which demonstrates our dedication to maintaining up-to-date standards of international maritime labour conventions and recommendations.
Our in-house team of expert recruiters is another great achievement of ours who are individually selected for their first hand experience of the industry ranging from commercial to yachts. This knowledge gives our recruiters the unique perspective to efficiently match the right candidate to the right placement.
What’s next for wilsonhalligan in 2017…
For 2017, wilsonhalligan will continue to build on the success we have experienced in the last two years by expanding our team further. We have recently expanded our interior team and even have our own Chef specialist, Nikki Anderson. We now plan to increase our deck team to assist with sourcing more niche positions such as carpenters, diver, medics, doctors and even DJs in off-shore positions.
We are also looking forward to more travel this year in the form of our favourite boat shows including Palma, Monaco and Antigua. The team looks forward to seeing you there!
