Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Atlas Marine Systems celebrates the delivery of Serial Number 5000, an Ultra 120kVA ShorPOWER® will be installed on M/Y Bravado, a 44.90m Abeking & Rasmussen.

Atlas products were first developed in the 1970’s and originated with the integration of motors and generators to produce motor generator sets capable of supplying 50 Hz, 60 Hz, and 400 Hz power from alternative input power sources. A talented merchant marine engineer joined Atlas in the late 1980’s making possible the replacement of D/C motors with solid state inverter drives. The company launched its ShorPOWER Classic I Series, installing the first system on M/Y Krisha. It was followed by a second
Classic being installed on M/Y Sally Ann in 1995.

Atlas designs and manufacturers ShorPOWER frequency converters and TecPOWER™ switchboards with six levels of automation for power management. Intimate knowledge of these products and their capabilities enables Atlas Electrical Marine Engineers to incorporate them into the vessel’s on-board electrical power distribution system more effectively and accurately. Atlas ShorPOWER products
provide the smallest and lightest weight systems coupled with advanced communications and diagnostic systems.
