Thank you to everyone that made it to the Viking & Maritime Skills Academy (MSA) stand during The Monaco Yacht Show. It is always a pleasure to meet new and current clients, candidates and crew we speak too regularly and ones that want to meet for the first time.

The overall atmosphere of the show was very positive, with a great deal of optimism about the future. It proved to be another fantastic and very busy show.

An exciting element of this year’s show was the airing of our new promotional video which showcased everything The Maritime Skills Academy has on offer for marine training plus Helideck Safety training with our partners' MAST Consultancy.

To start the first afternoon off, Viking Recruitment and The Maritime Skills Academy held a drinks reception to celebrate their new partnership with The Interior Training Academy (ITA). The collaboration will introduce a portfolio of interior training courses for the MSA. The addition of these superyacht interior courses will enhance the full range of industry, professional and development courses that are offered by the MSA.

Overall, the reception was well received with around 200 attendees over the course of the evening from a full cross-section within the yachting industry.

Following the announcement of the news, Directors from the MSA visited the new academy in Antibes to see where the future PYA GUEST training will be taking place.

Training and Performance Director, Mark Jaenicke said, “We were delighted with the choice of facilities as it is in such a central location in Antibes, a few minutes walk from the main square. We are excited to provide a great option for the Interior Training, alongside ITA.”

This year Viking Marine Travel were offering a great prize (1 return flight from London to Nice) to anyone that came to the stand and provided their contact details. The prize was drawn on the Friday afternoon and the lucky winner was Mairi Lockwood from Luviair.

Congratulation Mairi, we hope you enjoy your trip!

During the 4-day show, the Viking and MSA team attended various events and seminars to ensure they are keeping up to date with new and upcoming requirements within the industry.

Yacht Operations Manager, James Scott said, “This years MYS has proven to be a very busy and successful event for the categories of services we supply in the Yacht Operations Department.”

He went on to say, “Meeting old friends as well as new is something we all at Viking and MSA enjoy so much. The MSA drinks reception went really well as we had an array of guests in attendance; from company CEO’s, Yacht Managers, Crew Managers, Charter Brokers, Project Management, Service Companies, Agents and crew of all ranks. We will definitely be looking forward to next year’s show, as we always do.”

Again, we would like to thank you again from all of the Viking & The Maritime Skills Academy team … and see you next year!!
