ITS is a renowned interior and exterior fabric maintenance service for yachts. It was established in 1985 by Perkins, who'd been a chief steward on yachts for seven years at the time. He started the business because he noticed that as yacht interiors became more elaborate over time, the industry lacked a service specializing in the maintenance of high end fabrics.  

 

Richard is a licensed Certified Master Restorer and a Certified Master Cleaner, having undertaken extensive training in carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and fabric protection through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and the Restoration Industry Association (RIA). He is known to all the major shipyards and senior crew across the globe because of the hundreds of yachts that rely on his expert knowledge and the reliable services he provides via offices in the USA and Europe.

 

Richard's extensive training, combined with his well-earned reputation in the superyacht industry, make him the perfect choice as Total Superyacht's global expert for the hugely successful Digital Reference Center (DRC), which was launched at the Monaco Yacht Show earlier this year.

 

So far Richard has contributed more than 40 entries to the DRC, providing crew with reliable information on everything from carpet types and styles to stain treatment and general care -- all available with just a few clicks on an iPad.
