Following sell-out success in 2015, the Superyacht Charities are back with another exciting line up for the 2016 Superyacht Charities Ball, which has already sold out in record time. Last year final funds raised totalled £48,000, enabling key beneficiary Sail4cancer to launch their program and assist twenty one terminally ill single parents to say their final goodbye in a happy environment surrounded by their families.

The event this year promises to be better than before thanks to inspirational efforts from the Superyacht Charities trustees (Derek Munro, Vanessa Hodgson, Kerry Pettit, David Goldie and Ken Hickling) and their generous sponsors. As well as exciting new additions to the event, with assistance from Airship and ThirtyC design, the charity also launched a new website to promote the charity ball and other similar charitable events in the industry.

Main sponsors for the event this year include: AwlGrip, Clyde & Co, Dohle yachts, Global Services and Pinmar USA together with supporting sponsors Cathelco, CRS Yachts, David Store Navigational Management, Master Yachts, Oceanco, The Superyacht Group, VBH, Warsash Maritime Academy and wilsonhalligan. The ball will take place on April 16th at St Mary's Stadium, Southampton. Already a sell out for this year with tickets selling out just days after going on sale, the event brings together some of the biggest names and faces in the Superyacht industry.
Created to promote and assist in raising funds for charities that superyacht professionals both participate and donate to, SYC aims to ensure that worthy causes receive as much of the funding as possible and help the growth of the smaller not for profit and non-government funded charitable organisations.
The three beneficiaries selected for this year are Sail4Cancer, the Rona Sailing Project and the Antibes Lifeboat Association.

The event promises to be spectacular with luxury auction prizes, a mouth-watering three course menu, live band, DJ, and a steady flow of champagne. For those that missed out this year, you can register an interest for next year by emailing info@superyachtcharities.com.

As well as the Superyacht Charities Ball, SYC aim to organise a number of other fundraisers which includes a Solent swim involving SYC trustee, Vanessa Hodgson and Superyacht marketing professional, Goya Zimmer. Both are in training for this challenging event which will raise funds for the Health and Wellbeing trust. More information can be found on the SYC website.
