By Palma International Boat Show

With the Palma Superyacht Show kicking off in a few days, local visitors, as well as those who have flown in a little earlier, will have noticed the pre-event buzz about the island’s capital.

The excitement around the 2017 event is not only brought about by the stand-out yachts featuring this year, but also by the inauguration of the Refit & Repair area. The yachting industry’s most reputable companies will be on-site, ready to discuss future projects with Captains, Owners and Management companies. In addition to this, on Friday the 28th of April, the first day of the show, there will be a variety of engaging talks and seminars presented by aforementioned key-players in the super yacht sector. See our website for more details on which talk is scheduled, and at what time.

The first-class super yachts in this year’s show will soon be docked in the heart of Palma. One of the 65+ super yachts on display is the 46,23m PINK GIN, drawn up by America’s Cup designer Rolf Vrolijk and built by the carbon composite experts at Baltic Yachts. PINK GIN, named the “Marilyn Monroe of yachts” by Yachting World’s Elaine Bunting (1) is a dream to sail. She needs very little to enjoy a great day out on the water being remarkably responsive, she reacts to trim and wind speed variations not unlike a 50-foot yacht would.

As part of the many planned events we are thrilled to announce that Port Adriano will be providing, once again, the show's entertainment with FunFair Port Adriano. Expect to be dazzled by some very colourful characters walking around the show. For instance, you might spot Port Adriano’s ‘highly official police’, they are there to make sure yachts are tied to the dock properly and all sailors ashore are ‘behaving impeccably’. Port Adriano’s FunFair will be taking place Friday and Sunday from 16.30 to 19.30 and Saturday from 18.00 to 21.00.

Visitors and exhibitors will also be able to enjoy listening to the well-known and much-loved local swing band, Monkey Doo, who will be playing their lively tunes in the Refit & Repair area on Saturday evening, from 19:30 onwards. Why not stop by, drink a glass of celebratory sparkling wine and experience the festive atmosphere these crowd-pleasers are celebrated for?

On behalf of the Palma Superyacht Show team, our collaborators, sponsors and exhibitors, we warmly welcome you to Mallorca and the 5th edition of the Mediterranean’s most friendly superyacht show.
